L'Oreal- Not a Cloud in Sight

Gosh guys, I am so sorry about how infrequent things are, but I am in the midst of taking a class that requires camping for five weeks at a time, so I guess I haven't been painting my nails too much. Anyways, I'm here to talk about a polish that I just tried for the first time and show you an accent nail to go with it. For some reason, the color scheme reminds me a little bit of the jewelry Pocahontas wears in the Disney movie of the same name.
First off, I want to state my opinion on the L'oreal brand in general. It's significantly more expensive than drugstore brands of the same relative quality, and seems to get pretty disappointing reviews on Makeupalley and other forum sites. For this reason, I tend not to buy it. My other L'oreal nail color is really streaky and awful, but I thought I would give it a second chance when I saw this bottle, which according to the name, was supposed to be a sky blue.
The color in the bottle does not match the color on the nails. If the sky turned this color, run. Also, the formula is about the same here as my other color, with 3 or 4 coats needed to make it opaque. It's a really, thin, runny polish, so have some q-tips handy for cleanup.
To make myself feel better, I did some accent nail art. I did one little stripe of Butter London's "Shag" down the nail and did two white stripes on each side. Then I connected the lines in little chevrons across the metallic stripe. The design is loosely based on a MissJenFabulous design.

Butter London- Shag

This is the third and final Butter London polish I got for my birthday last year. It is part of the core collection (3-free) of Butter London, not the Rock Your Colour expansions they have been doing with color cosmetics lately.
The color is a warm copper tone with a metallic foil finish. I currently do not have any close dupes for this color.
The finish is absolutely beautiful. The glitter or glass particulates (probably glass) don't leave any topography on the nail, drying completely flat and smooth before topcoat application. The formula is thin and easy to control, becoming opaque in two coats.
My only con with this polish is also with the line in general; the package quality is not what one would expect from a "prestige" cosmetics brand. The cap is in two parts and come apart without much effort and the brush is very small and a little bit flimsy. Maybe they make the bottles a little cheaply to allocate more budget to the quality of the formula. That is my best guess because the quality of these formulas is definitely worth the price.

Butter London- Fairy Lights

Here is the second of the three 3-free polishes I got from Butter London for my birthday. This one is a true metallic, using glass or mica instead of glitter to create the texture. It is a light pink, similar to Essie's mirror metallics, but Fairy Lights is a very unique color, so it is not a dupe for anything in that collection.
The formula is thin, but extremely pigmented, so the formula is almost opaque in one coat. Unlike many metallics, this one is almost like a duochrome, flashing a little bit gold in some light. Wear is perhaps not the best, but I also work a lot with my hands and perhaps other activities would be more polish-friendly.

Butter London- Fizzy Pop

Fizzy Pop is one of the 3 (DBP, Toluene, Formaldehyde) free nail polishes by Butter London, which I believe is the only nail line they have. They recently switched from doing exclusively polish to color cosmetics too, which are really cool. I have to say purple mascara is not my thing, but I digress.
Fizzy Pop caught my eye at first because of the beautiful color visible in the bottle. It is a mixture of very fine gold and hologram glitters in a clear base. Because it is so sheer, I thought it needed a base that wouldn't detract from the color, such as black or white. Because a radically different (unless it is glitter) accent nail is so tacky, I chose to do a base layer nail in both black and white and layered fizzy pop on top of both polishes. I personally think it looks best over black. What do you think?

Butter London P.D. Quick Topcoat

I have been running out of my old Orly topcoat for some time, and so I went to the store today and purchased a topcoat and basecoat set from Butter London for $25 USD, which is an excellent price for such an expensive brand. It even came with its own adorable little case!
I have yet to try out the basecoat, but I put the topcoat on my nails and was very impressed. It does indeed dry very quickly and leaves nails feeling very hard and glossy.
To make a manicure really last, apply topcoat every other day. I think this one will be around for a while.
